Agony

This time I really recommend viewing the full-size version of the picture. Otherwise, you won't be able to see Gordon's facial expression. I think I did more work on that than on the actual posing. It actually took me less than 40 minutes to make this picture. I got the idea for it when I was trying to pose Breen standing in the middle of a well-lit square with a light shining on him from above. When adjusting Breen's left arm, I realized that it just looked weird. Then, all of a sudden, I remembered seeing a picture of a painting on TVTropes, and I must have been inspired by it to some extent. Somehow the painting and the unsuccessful Breen posing blended together and became the above picture. Even though the picture and the painting are far from identical, they have a few similarities in their content. I'm a little bit unsatisfied with Alyx's head. It doesn't hang the way I think it should. She doesn't look dead.

It could be worth mentioning that I find the romance subplot between Gordon and Alyx a bit annoying. Why does everything need to have a romance subplot?! It just gets in the way.

xkcd Remake

First of all: I did not come up with this joke. The original can be found here. I just remade the comic in Gmod. This time I really recommend viewing the full-size version of the picture, because otherwise you won't be able to read the text. From the moment I got Gmod, I've been planning to remake something from xkcd, and I've also been longing for an opportunity to make use of the dinosaur ragdoll pack again. (Formerly used in Try to Come Up With a Context That Explains This Picture.) Therefore, with this comic, I managed to do both at the same time.

Also, I don't usually read comics. I feel that I'm to old for it. xkcd is the only exception, because it's the only place on the web where I can find lots of computer- and/or math-related humor in the same place. Ok, there is one more exception. It's called Concerned.

I did most of the posing for this with gravity disabled. Just an interesting note.

Siege

This picture didn't turn out the way I hoped. I discovered after hours of posing the xenomorphs that apparently the fog editor doesn't work in the gm_BlackMesa_Sigma map. Therefore I tried to create a nice effect with the colour editor instead, and drastically failed in doing so. For comparison, I can also provide you with a picture that is almost identical, but lacks the colour filter:

For some reason, almost every prop, vehicle, ragdoll and NPC you spawn in this map gets its colours messed up, giving it either a pinkish tone or making it black with white highlights. That's the reason of why the shotgun one of the cops is holding is pink. However, the black-with-white-highlights colour distortion worked quite well with the xenomorphs, making their textures look even better than usual.

The metrocop who is firing a machine gun is a live spawn. All other characters on screen are ragdolls. To make him fire his weapon, I was standing right outside the border of the visible area, letting him shoot at me.

Also, when it comes to the title of the picture, "Siege", I know the name doesn't really fit. I just couldn't come up with a better one.

Triple-feature: Portal Meets Alien

I took these pictures at some point during the first week after I'd bought Gmod, so they're a bit old and required very little work to make. Still, I wanted to post them online, so here they are.

Raid

I'm actually more satisfied with this picture than I am with most others I've made. I messed around a bit with fog and colour modification when making it. I went through numerous ideas for where to put the Male_07 ragdoll, but eventually settled for placing him right at the side of the doorway, holding a knife. All combine soldiers are live spawns, while the resistance member and the citizen are ragdolls. The reason of why I picked Male_01 as the man holding the machine gun is the fact that he appears in that area in the game.

The knife that the Male_07 ragdoll is holding is from Team Fortress 2. Actually, I don't understand why there's so much hype around that game. I've tried it a bit, and I just don't see why people seem so obsessed with it.

CSI Nova Prospekt

I'm not really into that stuff about memes and viral videos (I still haven't watched Gangnam Style, and I've only heard it on the radio), but I figured I might as well try to make a CSI 4 Pane Comic in Gmod. According to the Cracked.com chart "The Rise And Fall Of An Internet Meme" a meme is pretty much dead once it hits TV. I've seen this meme parodied in a commercial on Swedish TV, so I guess I'm a bit after, but I don't care.

[UPDATE] I have now watched the music video for Gangnam Style. I don't understand why it's so popular.

The Construct

The Matrix is a great movie. Here I've tried to remake a scene from it. I did everything from memory. The armchairs were originally beige, but I used the colour tool to make them red. The phone on the table is from Portal. Aside from that, I don't have very much to say about this picture.

Try to Come Up With a Context That Can Explain This Picture

Just try to come up with a context in which this picture would make any sense at all. It's Gordon Freeman fighting a strider while riding a dinosaur. I was really tired when I made this picture, and when I get tired my imagination gets a bit weird.

In case you need an explanation for the terminology I'll be using, you can just check out the commentary for this thing someone else did.

The guy who made the comic the above link leads to claimed at one point that striders are hard to pose. I disagree. It took me a lot less work to pose the strider than, for instance, it took me to properly pose Alyx in the airboat that is supposed to look like it has just driven off the roof of the building. The only problem with striders is that they tend to flail a bit, but if you're careful you can avoid that almost entirely.

The Combine soldiers are live spawns. All other characters are ragdolls. To make the strider in the background smoke, I simply used a smoke emitter. I took more pictures than this one, but this was the one with the best angle, and it's also the only picture I took that included the dead strider in the background.

Garrus Vakarian Beating a Xenomorph With a Baseball Bat

I honestly have no idea what I was thinking when I made this picture. It was just an idea I came up with. The picture is quite simple, and it turned out almost the way I wanted it. I think the full size version (click the image to see it) might look good as a desktop wallpaper. I also made sure to publish this picture at the screenshot section of my Steam profile before publishing it here.
